The Chronotopic Contradiction in "El obsceno pájaro de la noche" by José Donoso

Abstract


Jose Donoso 's novel El obsceno pájaro de la noche has been appointed in several research as contradictory. This aspect of the narrative construction can be undertood due to structuring axis of the novel, that means, the main character, whose principal determination is to be an immaterial worker. Elucidating the configuration which is made from that kind of subject , it is that it can understand the social value printed on the narrative world of the novel. One way to determine the above is examining the chronotopic relationships within the novel. In consecuence, it proposes an analysis of the specifically contradictory character of the chronotope of El obsceno pájaro de la noche.
